Samsung launches Galaxy Tab in Korea

Samsung Electronics launched on Thursday the 7-inch Galaxy Tab at an event at its headquarters in Seoul, Korea.

The android tablet has been described by Shin Jong-kyun, head of Samsung’s mobile division, as “a super media gadget which enables users to enjoy a wide range of content including books, newspapers, magazines, movies and social networking services.”. Shin also replied to the comment of Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs who said that 7-inch tablets will be “DOA” (dead on arrival), saying that the customers will decide about this.

Samsung Galaxy Tab (SHW-M180S) will hit the showrooms starting with the next Monday, receiving a price tag of around W1.1 million-1.2 million ($998 – $1089) or  W300,000 ($272) with a two-year contract offered by the mobile carrier SK Telecom.
