Samsung announces Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Tab

Samsung’s CEO announced on stage at Verizon’s press conference during CES that a LTE-equiped version of the Samsung Galaxy is going to be released soon. Among the new features, this version of the slate will receive a new 1.2GHz processor, 4G LTE radio and a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Here are the specs of the new device :

  • 1.2GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor
  • 7-inch TFT display at 1024×600
  • 4G LTE radio
  • 5 megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera

“The 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab takes full advantage of Android 2.2 to deliver a blazingly fast experience for customers,” said Marni Walden, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless. “The 4G LTE-Samsung Galaxy Tab pairs Samsung’s advanced technology with the power of Verizon Wireless 4G LTE, so that customers can leap into the future of the mobile multimedia experience.”

The LTE-Galaxy Tab is expected to be released around the middle of 2011.

    Well, considering that Verizon’s definition of 4G is really just 3G but at a higher data plan cost, I’d pass on it.

      you have no IDEA what your talking about. LTE which I have worked on installing is not the same as there CDMA 3g. And also for your information there 3g and 4g LTE data plan is the same price.

    Tablets are coming out sooooo slowly and this one seems to make a passing grade all around. Count me in for a purchase
