CyanogenMod 7 Beta arrives on the Samsung Galaxy Tab

Since Samsung has failed to provide its users with an official update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread we put our faith in the hands of XDA Developers. Thanks to a talented developer named Technomancer over at XDA, we have a semi-working port of CyanogenMod 7. I had a chance to take the beta for a test drive and was astounded by how well it worked. Keep in mind that this is indeed a BETA so there are a few things that do not work. Check out my video to see my initial impression of the port.

The beta is not intended for everyday use and should only be done by those familiar with Odin & Heimdall. Also, if you are an android developer, get yourself over to XDA and help with the port; this applies to anyone good at finding bugs and who can provide useful solutions. Android develeopment is a community effort, everyone should do what they can. Get all the information here:

Does this affect the battery life in any way?
How easy is this to install on the tab compared to say jailbreaking an iphone?
