1-1.5 million Tegra 2 orders placed by Samsung for Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung has placed orders to Nvidia for about 1-1.5 million Tegra 2 processors which will power the upcoming Galaxy Tab 10.1-inch, Digitimes reports.

According to the sources, even though Samsung didn’t achieve company’s target of two million Galaxy Tab units sold, the Korean company it’s confident with the next Galaxy Tab version which is expected to be released in April .

Several other companies such as Motorola, Dell, Acer, Asustek Computer, Micro-Star Internation and Toshiba are going to launch android tablets powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor with Android 3.0 soon so the difference in performance won’t be that big; it will count customer’s brand preference and tablet features.
