MWC 2011 Galaxy Tab 10.1 renamed Galaxy Tab 10.1V, exclusively to Vodafone

As most of you know, following the announcement of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 at Mobile World Congress in February this year, Samsung announced a new re-designed version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 at CTIA 2011 along with Galaxy Tab 8.9.

To prevent confusion, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 announced at MWC 2011 will be renamed Galaxy Tab 10.1V and will be available exclusively via Vodafone.

“The Galaxy Tab 10.1V remains a Vodafone exclusive and will still be one of the first Android 3.0 devices to launch. We’ll announce pricing and availability in due course,” a Vodafone spokesperson has told Pocket-lint.

Even though 10.1V it’s a bit thicker (by 2.3mm) than Galaxy Tab 10.1, it will receive an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera compared to the 10.1 and will not feature Touchwiz UI featured at CTIA 2011 by Samsung.

Galaxy Tab 10.1V will be available in the following weeks in UK and we expect to see other countries embracing the device through Vodafone. As reported, UK will receive both 10.9mm and 8.6 Galaxy Tab versions in the near future.
