Virgin Australia Adding Galaxy Tablets In-Flight

It’s clear that the Australian market is taking full advantage of the lifted sales ban to the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 awarded by the court in December.

Virgin Australia announced it would be deploying the 10.1 tablets as part of its new in-flight entertainment system on most of its Boeing 737 and Embraer E190 planes starting in April 2012.

As might be expected, all business class customers will benefit from the move whereas holders of coach tickets will have to settle for renting them out. No price has been announced just yet.

While entertainment options initially will consist of movies, television, games, and service and product information, Virgin Australia will introduce more WiFi-enabled product offerings including more video and audio streaming selections in a second phase of its launch.
