Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 will become part of Royal history as it has been added to the Royal Collection stored at Windsor Castle.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 now has the distinction as the Royal Collection’s tablet as selected by the Royal Commonwealth Society charity. This means that the Note 10.1 will house Queen Elizabeth II’s “digital time capsule.”
People around the world submitted photos and videos to load into the Samsung tablet that will comprise the Jubilee Time Capsule (JTC), a digital gift to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
While 150GB of data was collected, only 60 entries were selected by a panel of judges, which includes the director general of The Royal Photographic Society and the Royal Librarian. The entries will all relate in some way to Queen Elizabeth’s 60-year reign.
As you might expect, video clips and photos from the 2011 Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton were the most popular.
Although the iPad was in the running for inclusion in the Royal Collection, the final nod went to the Galaxy Note 10.1.
