Samsung is planning to launch a brand new 8 inch tablet, the GALAXY Note 8.0, this spring.
The Android 4.1.2-powered Note 8.0 will include multi-window options to split the portable 8-inch screen, while allowing access to a number of live applications. The S Pen returns with advanced usability plus access to a suite of S Note templates and tools for creating, editing, and sharing everyday documents. New content and services will be pre-loaded including Flipboard and Awesome Note.
Samsung reports that the Reading Mode feature transforms the GALAXY Note 8.0 into an e-Book reader, providing the optimal reading conditions to ensure you can curl up and enjoy a good book. You can even turn it into a universal remote control with Smart Remote, to seamlessly manage TVs, set-up boxes, DVD & Blu-ray players. The new tablet’s screen features a 1280 x 800 resolution with 189 pixels per inch, which is slightly more than seen in the iPad mini.
The Note 8.0 is equipped with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM and will be available with internal storage options up to 32GB. A microSD card slot will be also be included. As you’d expect, the front camera is 1.3 MP, while the back is 5 MP.
Pricing details haven’t been announced but there will be a WiFi-only version and a more expensive LTE model.
