The new 4G network will cover 25 percent of US Cellular’s customers — in parts of the states of Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma.

The Super Bowl advertisement, part of which was shot with the Galaxy Note’s HD-quality video camera, will expand on “The Next Big Thing” online ad, which pokes fun at Apple fanatics.

The game changing Galaxy Note required a launch platform just as significant which is why Samsung chose the largest event in North America to unveil this product – Super Bowl XLVI.”

The commercial will air in Canada and the US during the fourth quarter of the Giants-Patriots game. Samsung said the TV spot will be accompanied by digital and social media campaigns featuring exclusive access to content and giveaways.

In Canada, the Galaxy Note, with its 5.3″ HD Super AMOLED Screen and innovative S pen, will be widely available on February 14th via TELUS, Rogers and Bell. In the US, the popular phone/tablet will be available for pre-order starting February 5th and sold at AT&T and Best Buy stores nationwide beginning February 19th.

For those keeping count in Germany, score another win for Apple. On Jan. 31st, the Higher Regional Court in Dusseldorf ruled that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 violates a German anti-competition statute. Previously, the ruling was based on patent infringement but in response to Samsung’s latest appeal on anti-competitive factors, the ruling was revised with a similar result.

Additionally, the court ruled that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also violates the German law.

But all is not lost in Germany for the electronics giant. The Galaxy Tab 10.1N is still being sold, as Samsung’s modifications were acceptable to Apple and the courts.

Apple was challenging a decision the Dutch court made in August 2011 favoring Samsung.

The Samsung team welcomed the positive outcome: “This ruling again demonstrates that Apple’s products simply do not warrant the intellectual property protections that it believes. Samsung will continue to take all appropriate measures, including legal action, to ensure continued consumer access to our innovative products.”

So how much different will it be? Aside from a front facing speaker, more curved edges to make the form factor a little different and the choice of white or metallic gray, it’s basically the same.

It will be available for sale near the end of January for a considerable sum of 600 Euros or about $769 USD.

Samsung continues to offer consumers in that region a wide choice in the mobile tablet market as it takes it’s place along with the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.0 and 7.0 Plus.

FIPS is a federally issued, U.S. information security standard certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to devices which meet strict security and interoperability standards.

This means that government agencies and regulated industries, such as financial and health-care institutions, can use the global version of the Galaxy S II smartphone, Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi as well as the 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Verizon Wireless to meet their mobile enterprise needs.

To compensate for the lack of a solid release date, we found out that AT&T will be adding a faster 1.5Ghz processor and it will be supported on the super fast 4G LTE network.

We don’t have exact shipping numbers from Samsung just yet. Samsung, however, told the media (that) “rapid global sales of Galaxy Note are notable since it is creating a new market for something between smartphone and tablet PC.”

One expects the numbers to stay firm since the ‘tab-phone’ or ‘phablet’ will be available for sale in the US in the next few months. Also of note, is that the Android 4.0 / Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade
is slated this quarter.

That’s all it took to come up with a Galaxy Nexus Tablet launch supposedly slated for 2012. It doesn’t even have to be a Galaxy Tablet for that matter since Google has Motorola as a viable option to do the manufacturing.

Which OS will the new tablet sport? You’d have to think it would be Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android. However, six months down the road it could very well be Jelly Bean, right? Let’s just hope they take care with the design elements – nobody needs more patent warfare.

It gets your attention and it does take a good jab at Apple’s attempt to block the sale of Galaxy tablets in Australia. More importantly, as several managers might point out, it turns a negative into a positive.

Tyler McGee Samsung Australia’s Telecommunications VP, told the Sydney Morning Herald: “At the end of the day the media awareness certainly made the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a household name compared to probably what it would’ve been based on the investment that we would’ve put into it from a marketing perspective.”

Rob Friedman, American’s VP of Marketing said: “Today’s news is the latest in a series of investments we’ve made in our focus on product and service enhancements for our premium customers, and we know they will be delighted with the contemporary entertainment experience of the tablet.”

Both domestic and international flyers – on select flights – will be able to choose from more than 70 movies, including 30 new releases, with three titles exclusive to American from Paramount, as well as a variety of television programs and audio selections. And Samsung has designed a special touchscreen for the airline to make the tablets even more user-friendly.

The touch-screen tablet will apparently run on Google Ice Cream Sandwich with a 2GHz dual-core processor and will feature Android Beam to share content with other NFC-enabled ICS Android devices.

The Galaxy Tab HD, according to the rumor mill, could potentially launch at the Mobile World Congress 2012, to be held in Barcelona, Spain from February 27th to March 1st.
