On the Samsung website is posted: “Samsung is in close communication with both Google and our carrier partners to upgrade devices to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as quickly and as smoothly as possible.”

T-Mobile customers with the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S Blaze 4G, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Galaxy Tab 10.1 are all covered. Samsung, however, was not clear exactly when the update will be made.

The Android 4.0-powered tablets and assorted accessories will be available for online purchase and at nationwide Office Depot retail locations beginning May 13th.

Office Depot reports that pre-sale orders placed online will ship on May 11th, via free next business day delivery in most locations.

“The (Samsung) Galaxy Tab has been supplied to upgrade the premium value of K9 that is the outcome of high technology. We expect that the level of convenience for K9 owners will rise with the joint launch,” said Kia in a prepared statement.

The two Korean companies collaborated on the project to provide K9 owners with a friendlier user interface and a quick driver’s guide on the tablet.

Galaxy Tab 7.0, 7.0 Plus, 8.9, 10.1 and the Galaxy Note will receive the new software update effective April 30th.

Samsung will continue rolling out the upgrade to devices and carriers throughout the quarter.

Other devices eligible for an ICS upgrade include Galaxy S II, S II LTE, S II LTE HD and Galaxy S II X.

Samsung has obtained a patent for a dual screen design suitable for portable mobile communications, according to a Forbes.com story.

Forbes reports: “The Patent No. D658-173 was filed on April 7th with Kim Dong-Hun named as the inventor.”

If this is true, we should expect a clamshell-styled tablet with two 7-inch screens. Forbes posits that it might be suitable for business users, with one screen for a virtual keyboard, the other for a word processing app.

Recall that in February, the regional court in Dusseldorf ruled that the 10.1N was sufficiently different than the iPad and Samsung would be allowed to sell the tablets in Germany.

The regional court of Munich backed up that decision as well. Needless to say, that didn’t sit well with Apple’s legal team, hence the fresh attempt at a sales ban.

Ulrich Egger, a spokesperson for the higher regional court in Düsseldorf, said in a statement that there will probably be no verdict in June, with the court expected to rule later this year.

The Korean news source is Maeil Business and the leaked document cited is “Samsung Electronics SW Consolidation Plan” reports The Verge’s, Joshua Topolsky.

S-Cloud will likely ship “with access to popular TV shows, movies, and music with free and paid content that will be available across a range of Samsung devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones,” according to The Verge.

Additionally, 5GB of storage will be offered and software giant Microsoft is on board to make sure the service is widely available.

After a short delay in shipment, the 7-inch version, which costs $250, will go on sale April 22, followed by the $400, 10-inch version, which will be available on May 13.

The dual core tablets have an added bonus, noted Samsung: “The devices feature an integrated IR blaster for universal remote capabilities, as well as an easily accessible memory card slot for convenient loading of multimedia files in a range of supported file formats.”

That’s right folks. You may use your new tablet as a universal remote control for an entertainment center. Now was that worth the wait, or what?

It’s not just the handset’s body either – a new pink protective cover and pink S Pen are part of the package to add appeal to Samsung’s female audience.

Whether the berry pink version will be added to the current carbon blue or ceramic white versions available in North America remains to be seen. But with accelerating worldwide sales – over 5 million units and counting – the 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED phablet is obviously worth a look no matter what color it comes in.

The glossy, ceramic white version will be available at select carriers and retail outlets as Samsung looks to build on its 5 million in worldwide sales.

While the 5.3-inch HD Super-AMOLED screen combined with the revolutionary S-Pen has been an obvious hit with consumers, Samsung ensures Canadian workers that the Note has met rigorous security criteria to be categorized as “enterprise ready” so they can securely integrate their device into the workplace.

Samsung’s enterprise functionality and security now includes: Mobile Device Management, On-Device Virtual Private Network (VPN) and secure access to Corporate Email/Calendar/Contacts.

Additionally, a premium suite upgrade will be added in late spring with new features and applications that will make good use of the S-pen and Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

“With the Premium Suite upgrade, we wanted to add features that enrich users’ Note experience even more, including the great advantages of Android 4.0 and innovative applications for S Pen,” said Paul Brannen, Vice President, Mobile Communications at Samsung Canada.

When the results were tabulated, the Samsung Galaxy Note’s The Best of a Phone and a Tablet ad took first place!

Considering the quarter included heavyweight contributions from several other industry giants during the Super Bowl, Grammy Awards and the Oscars, this is a well-deserved honor.

Based on a scale of 0-950, which includes scores on creative attributes such as relevance, persuasion, watchability, information, attention, and other categories, Samsung scored 686 points, well ahead of Doritos’ Slingshot Baby and M&Ms Just My Shell commercials, which tied for second spot, each with 671 points.

“Samsung’s top-ranked ad was particularly brilliant because it conveyed innovation and information without a narrator,” AceMetrix CEO, Peter Daboll, said.

We should be a tad wary about that since the electronics giant has confused the shipment numbers with sales numbers where tablets are concerned on a previous occasion.

Nevertheless, it is a very positive sign that consumers welcome the 5.3-inch, stylus-packing “phablet” that only made it’s debut five months ago. At this rate Samsung will indeed reach the 10 million sales milestone it projected for 2012.

At MWC 2012 in Barcelona, Samsung declared that a Galaxy Note 10.1 would be available sometime this year, in 16, 32 and 64 GB variations.

At its recent Latin American Regional Forum, in Lima, Peru, Samsung announced that both the 7-inch and 10.1-inch models will be made available with 3G and Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi only and installed with the new Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) OS.

Residents of Brazil will have to wait until May for their Galaxy 2 tablets, noted Samsung.

The announcement was made at the recent Samsung South West Asia Forum in Bangkok, Thailand along with another nugget: the price comes in at an attractive 23,250 rupees / $ 463 USD.

While the features are the basically the same as the Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus [1GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 7-inch, 1024 X 600 pixel display and full HD video recording capability], the new tablet comes fortified with Ice Cream Sandwich / Android 4.0. That definitely makes it a bargain compared to the 7.0 plus, which is priced higher at 25,990 rupees.

Samsung said it hopes to build on its 40-45 percent market share for tablets in India with steady growth.

But the wait is over! Galaxy Tab 7.7 LTE will be available in South Korea from SK Telecom at the cost of 800,000 won without a contract, which is about $700 USD.

Initially, customers will have to settle for the Android 3.2 / Honeycomb OS and wait for the upcoming roll out of Android 4.0 / Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the world’s thinnest tablet will be equipped with something a bit special, namely, support for voice calls over LTE.

Additionally, it sports a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 7.7 Super AMOLED Plus display (1280×800), dual cameras, 16/32 GB of internal storage and gorilla glass coating.

Make sure you have at least $349.99, plus tax on hand and the right directions to a nearby Future Shop, Best Buy, Staples or The Source.

As you might already know, the 7.0 plus features a 1024 x 600 resolution Gorilla Glass display and runs 3.2 Honeycomb with a 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor and 1 gig of RAM.

And incidentally, March 16th is also when the brand new iPad arrives in Canada.

First the pink Galaxy S2 was unveiled, then CeBit attendees were treated to the pink version of the Galaxy Note, which is gaining popularity as seen recently at the MWC in Barcelona.

No pricing information was divulged at MWC in Barcelona where the news started circulating over the weekend leading up to the show.

Expect a 1GHZ dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, a pair of cameras, the choice of either 16GB or 32GB of RAM and the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay.

“Two years ago, Samsung Galaxy Tab began to offer customers more possibilities on the go. Since then, Samsung has actively enhanced our tablet line-up with several tablets in different sizes.
